What are flat-back earrings?

Instead of a traditional post with a butterfly back, the earring features a small, smooth disc that rests flat against the skin behind your ear. With our design, the flat back and the post are a single piece. You insert the post from the back of your earlobe and screw the decorative front piece on from the front. The result? No poking post or chafing butterfly back behind your ear. Just a small, flat back resting gently against your skin.

If you have a fresh piercing, however, you should always follow your piercer's guidance regarding titanium jewelry, aftercare, and pressure on the area during the healing process.

How do you put in flat-back earrings?

The first time can feel a bit backward—literally. You insert the post through the piercing from behind, hold the flat disc in place, and screw the decorative top on from the front.

In the beginning, we recommend checking that the top is securely screwed in daily. Once you get used to the system, a quick check once a week is more than enough.
